Dr Chan 陈耀荣 graduate in medicine from the University of Singapore in 1980..

On completion of his specialist training in 1987, he did a fellowship year in Liver Transplant Anaesthesia in UK in 1989 and later advanced management program in Harvard  USA.

Dr Chan was head of the department of anaesthesia from 1993 to 2001, and later the Post-Graduate Medical Institute Director in Singapore General Hospital.

In his years of leadership, he established a one-year clinical fellowship program in his department and trained many regional doctors in South East Asia including China.

Dr Chan is still passionate in clinical education in anaesthesia.

His clinical research includes transdermal delivery of drugs, hand-held biosensors for pathogens, airway devices and recently AI in anaesthesiology

Currently he holds academic leadership in industry collaboration, innovation and global health in anaesthesiology.

He successfully organised the 18th WCA held in Singapore in March this year.
