Dr. Lei Kuang obtained his MBBS from Xiangya School of Medicine, Central South University(CSU) in 2007. He then joined The Second Xiangya Hospital as a staff surgeon and completed his specialist training in spine surgery in 2012. He further pursued a M.D in Surgery and graduated in 2016.

He is currently the Associate Head of the Spinal Surgery Department with special interest in deformity, oncology, and degenerative diseases. He has made numerous presentations at international congresses held by NASS, European Spinal Society, CSRS-AP, PASMISS. Additionally, he has obtained dozens of issued patents and several competitive research grants.

He has published multiple peer-review articles, authored several textbooks. He is currently an EBM for the journal of BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders, and ERBM of Geriatric Orthopaedic Surgery & Rehabilitation,a GAE of Frontiers in Medicine. He also serves as a Committee Member of organizations including NASS, COA, CAOS, CACA, CMEA, and CARM.
