Bo Huang MD, PhD is a tenured full professor of ophthalmology and subspecialty-trained in cornea, external disease and refractive surgery. He currently holds the title of medical director of ophthalmology and director of cornea service at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC).  He practices full-time at UMMC's eye clinics as well as serving as a cornea consultant to the VA hospital eye clinic in Jackson, MS.  He was a recipient of numerous grants and awards, which include a prestigious career development award from Research to Prevent Blindness, Inc. Dr. Huang is one of the first cornea surgeons to perform lamellar and endothelial keratoplasty in the USA.  He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, American Medical Association and Cornea Society. He has been selected as one of the best doctors by "Best Doctors in America." His research interests are on ocular surface diseases, autoimmune diseases of the anterior segment, corneal wound healing, lamellar and endothelial keratoplasty, complex anterior segment trauma and bacterial keratitis.
